- Find out what training or study you need to do
- Find about careers in agriculture
Hands-on experience days
Sign up for a Get Ahead Experience Day and learn about every type of job in the agricultural sector.
- Experience Days are fun and practical.
- There are speakers and activities, and you'll learn about the industry 'from pasture to plate'.
Experience days are held throughout the country in terms 1 and 2.
Has your school had a visit from a Get Ahead Careers Champion yet?
Get Ahead organises for young people who are studying or working in agriculture to visit schools.
If the Get Ahead Careers Champions come to your school, make sure you catch up with them and find out things like what they're doing in the industry, why they want to be part of it, and what their career plan is.
In2 the field
Get Ahead can match you with someone in the ag sector who's working in an area you'd like to know more about. You'll get matched with a young person who's working in agri-business, an on-farm role and other careers in the agricultural sector.
You'll spend one-to-one time with them - they'll act as a mentor to you, and you'll pick up advice and inspiration.
Get Ahead is run by New Zealand Young Farmers. It's sponsored by the Red Meat Profit Partnership and DairyNZ.
