Editorial Policy

The Paddock Ledger publishes explanation. This page sets out how we work.

Sourcing. When an article describes a concept drawn from a published guide or workbook, we name the document and link it. We paraphrase rather than reproduce long passages, and we do not present a source as endorsing us. We make no claim to represent, succeed or act for any organisation, and we state no levy, service, certification or contact detail on their behalf.

Scope. We cover map reading, land management unit organisation, and record keeping. We do not give agronomic, veterinary, financial or regulatory advice, and we do not set out legal compliance promises. We avoid specific treatment, application, stocking or feed recommendations, and we do not quote current software pricing.

Examples. Farm names, block boundaries, paddock names, stock counts and feed figures in our articles are fictional training examples. They are constructed to show a record keeping method. They are never real survey results, and no figure should be read as typical for any district or farm system.

Illustrations. Where an image is generated rather than photographed, it is credited as an illustration. Where a photograph is used, the credit says so. A synthetic image is used to demonstrate a shape or layout, never as evidence of a real place.

Corrections. When we get something wrong, we correct it in the article, in plain language, with the date. We keep the correction visible rather than hiding the change.

Independence. The Paddock Ledger is an editorial publication. It does not sell mapping software, fertiliser, stock or consulting, and it does not accept payment for coverage.
